This is surprisingly good. Weird to read about Melbourne in the early 2010s from a different perspective

This book is so haunting and eerie, but I can’t figure out why. I feel like we’re sitting outside looking in on Shouji’s life, and we’re not allowed into his thoughts and feelings, so he comes across as cold and desperate.

I’m so interested in where this book is going. Her writing and the plot is really well done so far

I’ve heard really good things about this, but so far the writing is a little disappointing. Story and concept is excellent, but she’s info dumping and using very repetitive phrases.

I think I stopped at this page last time too. Honestly this is such a ride. I want to like Conor but I wish I could understand him.

No wonder people are rating this so low if it’s marketed as a romantasy. This is a straight fantasy, with barely a romantic subplot. I think I can see who the love interest will be, but I want it to be Merren instead.

I’m coming back to this book for a second time, and honestly I don’t remember much about the first read, but this is a really excellent book. Well thought out world building and characters, the plot is intriguing, and an overarching sense of uneasiness that makes this a really exciting read.

I’ve made it to page 64 and decided I’m putting it down. Something really struck a chord with me in this book, and it’s making me too sad and uncomfortable to keep going.

Maybe that’s a sign of a beautifully written book.

This book has found me at the right time. I love Sally’s writing style, she writes so well about all the small things in life that you don’t realise mean anything until it’s passed.

I wish I had read this in high school

I actually am really struggling to get through this book, mostly because it feels like Sarah has dipped her hand straight into my head and pulled this out. I can’t describe it any other way.

Girl is really going through it. I’m in love with the writing style and the choice phrases, they paint a really hazy picture of life and its purpose.

This is an excellent read. It’s very obviously the inspo for WOLM which I also really enjoyed. Male MCs are like a breath of fresh air in my fantasy reads.
