i am ready to cry again. i love this book so much. third time's the charm, with "charm" being that i loved this book so much i've already read it twice and am reading it again.

obsessed with the fact that the song "nothing changes" is the only song in the entire show that was written at the very beginning and has not changed since she originally wrote it back in 2010. perfectly named

i need every musical theatre album to have an accompanying book with a song-by-song breakdown through each production iteration through the broadway final version. it is absolutely so fascinating to read how the show evolved throughout the years, and really puts into perspective just how long it takes for a musical to be finished. she worked on hadestown for over ten years before it made it to broadway
