Boy, they just got right into things...

This is turning into bonkers silly, and not bonkers fun. It's also paced a little too quick..

This is bonkers and kind and over the top. But also fun.

A bit silly, but just about everything I'm craving from a HR novel right now.

Evie is an idiot.

Last story, I liked a lot of this one, except the ease with which his PTSD is solved by love. Just felt too easy. The narrator seemed better in this one than the first she did? But still not my favorite - sorry to those who love her work.

I like the 2nd story by Mary Balogh, but the narrator Anne Flosnik isn't one of my favorites. I And I didn't love that Cleo was described as dumpy. And he was the only one who could see her beauty, but it was okay 3stars

Okay, this one might be my favorite so far, Hope Springs Eternal, Jacquie D'Alessandro. But I was left wondering what happened with her scandal. I do enjoy Simon Prebble narration when not describing flowers instead of sex.

First story: It's cute, but I was thinking this writing style seems familiar. So I looked up Stephanie Laurens, which I've only read a couple of her books. And found this in my review "The love scenes were also just too flowery, to prosaic. I wasn't entirely sure if they weren't blooming into actual flowers at some point." Which is very true in this one too.

god this heroine is stupid

I may DNF this one, I really just don't like the hero. And I like the grumps, just not the emotionally constipated.

-Dude being all alpha male and replacing her f-n clothes and she's okay with it because it's a Silk lacy thong. If a man took my favorite 20 year old sleeping t-shirt I would kill him in his sleep.
-Of course the heroine eats like a horse, loves dessert, but maintains her physique by doing nothing to maintain it other that think about it? Felt a little fat shammy the way people were being described physically.

Over all I'm enjoying this, passing is good and even a bit funny. BUT it has triggered some of my pet peeves.
- I'm rich so I'm going to brand name dump all over the place to prove it.
-Single girl who hasn't dated in a while, and has no plans too, and lives with her Mom, is fully shaved and ready for date night. I want one book where he take off her robe and is like "wow, what a bush".
And....

I just not getting into this one. It's feels choppy and all over the place. I feel it could use just a spot more of editing. I feel like it could be really funny, but I'm just not in the mood right now.

This is adorable so far. Even helping pull me out of a bit of a reading slump.

Interesting, well narrated, but most of the hero's hang-up seems to be that she wasn't a virgin when they married. Which is maybe accurate "historically", but very disappointing for a romance hero.

Despite the interesting plot twist, I find this one dragging for me? Maybe it's because the two MC so obviously belong together and it's just him being stubborn? I can't say that's a troupe that works for me often.

I'm going to DNF this one, it gets me so riled up I have trouble sleeping after reading it. And my library loan is almost up anyway. And after reading some reviews it seems it's not the most liked in the series even.
I'll try the other book in the series I already own and if the writing style is similar I'll probably just avoid Karen Moning. Not awful, but not my thing either.

I'm only reading this book because for some reason I own a later one in the series and thought maybe it'd help to start with the first one.
But this book is all over the place. The pacing and characters are all over the place. Plus both the MCs are kind of unlikable.

On a second listen, because I didn't write a review or any notes. Nates whole shpeel about his tragic childhood was a little to self serving? Like he was the first and only person to feel pain. I can see why I only gave it 3 stars.

And I'm bored... Maybe another time

this is very meh so far, the female narrator is trying a little too hard. Maybe to compensate for the writing?
