I have so many mixed feelings. Aspen gives Mer whatever he can sacrifice. Money, time, safety (bc they sneak around) but I feel like he’s hiding something. On the other hand Maxon gives her things (which he has an abundance of) but also advocates and protects her. I’m so stuck between them. I’m not rooting for either rn.

I can’t stand how wishy-washy Mer is. I don’t believe either male character are solid options in her mind or that she really “loves” either. They are just both fall back options in case the other one either does something she doesn’t like or pisses her off.

The dedication for this book is the cutest thing I have ever seen!

I never thought I was one against detailed battle scenes but that being a majority of this book is making me realize it. I’m really dragging my feet through the ending of it. I feel like this book could have been 300 words shorter and still been good.

These alternating POV’s suck. In the other books they were bearable because of how they were done. You were okay switching because the previous one was at a good point. However, in this book…they suck. I don’t care about what’s happening with the witches or Aedion. What’s the point in constantly shifting. So stupid.
