I'm trying to understand why everyone seems to love this, but so far, I'm in the dark.

It's not as bad as it was at the beginning, but I have really mixed feelings.

Book club title for work. I already don't like it. Kristin Hannah's melodramatic ass annoys me.

Nothing has happened in this book. Nothing! I'm debating whether to actually finish it.

It's getting less badly written, but more ludicrously unlikely. So I'm not sure if that's better, or...?

Why is there a talking dog? Why, friends? Why?

This reads like fanfic written by an eighth grader. I'm pretty sure I hate it.

I feel like this book and I are assigned partners in a class project and we're just trying to get through it so we can go back to doing other things.

I've got this playing at 1.5x speed, and the plot still isn't getting anywhere.

I don't like magical realism, plots that try to do too many things at once, or reliving 2020. So not really digging this one. It's for book club, though, so I'm trying to press on.

Well, we've extolled the virtues of Henry David Thoreau while trashing female authors as a whole, and there's a veritable an all-you-can-eat buffet of overwrought, nonsensical metaphors—so no, it's not getting better.

I'm reading this for my work book club, and it is already a struggle. It's so over-written I want to gag. I'm not surprised, since I hated A Gentleman in Moscow too much to finish it, but still. Katey Kontent? Please.

Beautifully written, but intensely repetitive, and to be honest I'm pretty burnt out on the kid's complaining even though it's totally understandable. I remember why I DNFed this originally (I'm re-reading it as part of the Book Riot Read Harder challenged, which includes finishing a book you'd previously dropped as one of the challenges).

I love everything about this and have no criticisms at this time. Thank you and good night.

I am extremely cranky about books set in Appalachia, but this one has managed not to be too patronizing so far.

I'm afraid of where this is going and how devastated I'm going to be when it gets there.
