The story describes the way narration can be handled especially regarding appropriations of a minority demographic and portraying the stolen work from a white perspective, it also discusses how the audience may receive this, particularly in this day and age where the internet provides for us an entitlement to address every little issue and thereby change the original context of a message. It’s a mirror to society.

This book utilizes an interesting narrative concept; we follow the most unlikable character that fails to recognize the privilège bestowed on her as a result of her white skin colour. The author positions her led’s character with deliberate interpretation to understand her misdemeanor in a manner that may tempt you to take her side or make excuses for her. It’s brilliant.

This was such an inspiring read, it made me shed some tears but it’s empowering to see Christians on the battlefront of faith. More people should read this and know the work of God in our lives and learn that we are not alone. The work of God is very important. 😘

I haven’t been able to put this book down since I started, I’m so angry with myself for putting it off for so long and angry that I started, it’s so good I want to savor it and I want to continue. Agrhhh! The dilemma

This book is good I guess but like I think it’s me cause I already don’t care about the characters like at all

I have sobbed, I was made whole after the sobbing with glimmers of happiness and it was beautiful. This was a beautiful and emotional read, hard to read a lot of times because of the difficult topics but lovely all the same. C’était une belle expérience.

People are complicated and life makes shit out of people with traumatic events, however all these characters need a lot of theraphy, like a lot.

The friendship between the women and their kids is so beautiful 😭 I can’t stop fawning over them.

It’s been so long since I craved a book like this

I’m just few pages into this book and I regret ever starting it, I knew it would be this good 😭 I dreaded starting it cause I knew I won’t be able to do any other thing again. I just want to savor it.

I guess sometimes when you go through some messed up things you feel like you’ve aged a thousand. That’s what’s up with ace acting like he’s 50 compared to phat.
