It's interesting that much of the discourse so far in this book is the introduction of made-up elements in creative nonfiction, and what we can take from these moments that did not actually happen as depicted. It makes me wonder about the recent pieces of fiction that were found to be actually based on real events, and the backlash that occurred. A betrayal of the genre as written.

Phew, Brandon Taylor's story. Definitely a highlight of the collection. I need to read his book.

This book is hitting all the right notes for me. I’m loving how Salesses talks craft and recontextualizes major writing terms. I already know this is going high on my list of books this year.
