It's interesting that much of the discourse so far in this book is the introduction of made-up elements in creative nonfiction, and what we can take from these moments that did not actually happen as depicted. It makes me wonder about the recent pieces of fiction that were found to be actually based on real events, and the backlash that occurred. A betrayal of the genre as written.
