I feel like my kindle is the problem bc people typically wrote better than this in the 1930s-40s 😭

the sentences are getting better but I'm just not in the mood for this book but I don't wanna DNF it 😭

this next section is SOOO BORING
The punctuation and run-on sentences are pissing me off so badly like I can't even understand what I'm reading PUT SOME DAMN COMMAS

First chapter ✅

Insightful thoughts on the process of aging and growing old, but overall extremely boring plotline. I can understand why people might like this novel but I like when books have an interesting plot, not just deep insights into certain topics. I can figure out the theme of a book without you describing it to me, as of right now it feels like an essay rather than a story.

just realized this was in fact written in the 1960s so the slightly racist descriptions make more sense I still hate when books do that though 😭

so far I don't see any plot and I thought this was made recently so idk why they're using a couple out-dated racist terms
the writing style is interesting though, I do like when books go into existencial or identity crisis mode (sorta like anxious people it like reflects on relationships and lives)

bro I've been reading this so slowly I need to lock in it's a super good book

this book is so overstimulating sometimes but I love it
