I could be desensitized, but this book is less hair-raising terror of the paranormal than I’d expected. It relies on shock and body horror, but it’s still very well written, and I don’t think it overdoes things. I think the explorations into how evil is allowed to flourish between the cracks of society and institution is excellent.

The writing is succulent. Vibes are already terrible in the best way. High hopes for how this is going to go.
