having just read a really upbeat book with a laidback writing style, the heavy detail and somberness kind of shocked me lol. i enjoy the amount of detail at most times, but sometimes it feels a little overwhelming. also i feel like the suspense of the tower is being built artificially, like the tower itself isnt very ominous to me yet, but the narrator is really really emphasizing its ominousness. idk, we’ll see!
