So far a really good book and very well written! The beginning is pretty basic and cringey of a situation just because you can see it coming and you hope it doesn’t and then it does like a car going over a cliff you try to stop it but you can’t so anyways it’s a bit of a classic troupe plot line in the beginning but the characters are likable and writing is good!

Good, once the main test was revealed it seemed as though it would be very predictable but it was t entirely! I really liked the main character until the end in which it was like okay we get it you haven’t had anything go right for you boo hoo overall good read

Completely unrealistic dialogue and college kid dynamics but I’m In it for the Emily Henry rom com of it all

Audio book slow start and lord of characters to keep track of but Interesting once they start to talk about the con queen and the background/home life!

It’s giving “listen for the lis” when she can’t remember anything and her own family finds her guilty mixed with some book I can’t for the life of me remember when a victim really likes a stoic cop who saved her from traders and still, although stoic, protects her - maybe it’s jar of hearts? I can’t remember but in that book I’m talking about the girl is very flirty with the cop 🤷🏼‍♀️

So far I’ve learned that Riley is a big fan of the “so traumatized I can’t remember what happened” troupe seen in “middle of the night” and “ final girls”. The dialogue in this book and character interactions aren’t as natural as some of his other books and the idea of final girls seems to be a popular subject rn.

If this has a supernatural twist I swear to god I won’t finish it.

WOW what a twist so far did not see that coming at all. I was thinking it would be similar to a flicker in the dark where you keep trying to guess who the bad guy is but man I was wrong. It’s a sneaky good book and super disturbing in terms of abduction and abuse but doesn’t go into graphic details like some other stories do - it’s very SVU.

Couldn’t get past the first could of pages but I’ve heard it’s good so maybe I’ll return in the future

Almost finished - this book has a lot going on from sabotage, family trauma, sexual trauma, drug dealing, physical violence, bad self thoughts and the occasional change in narrator and also switching back and forth from moments in time and has 7 key characters and also religious and cult undertones and homophobia never really addressed. 3/5 so far

Originally I wasn’t interested because I thought it would be another who done it like “and then there were none”, “the guest list”, etc. but it’s more so a cross between two other familiar troupes so far - it’s giving “Hidden pictures” meets “verity” meets “ the housemaid”. It’s not the best, not the worst so far and if it turns supernatural I may not finish 🤷🏼‍♀️

The twists, the turns, the……need for an exorcism?!?

Ehh. The One (Ones?) was better - it got me more interested earlier and then the ending was a letdown; this one is ok but the dialogue takes me right out of it and, as an American reader who is also lazy, some of the terms - I have no clue what they mean, which also takes me out of it. Plus the plots like hum-drumming sooooo slloooowwlyy I’m struggling

Took this long to get into it. Def not as good as the woman in the window but it has potential just a slow start

Unexpected but in a good way and it’s very well written so far
