Almost DNF’d this but the last two chapters have been very interesting so we’ll see. I will say, the author is making some very bold claims about prehistoric people and his sources are just vibes 🤨

Interesting but not really offering much that other books on prehistory haven’t already done - the title made me think it would discuss more about prehistoric life and the landscapes that people lived it, but so far it’s just been about recounting famous digs (which I’ve already read about numerous times atp)

The plot potential was the only strong part about this book and theres been about three chapters where there have been no developments, just the protagonists inner monologue. I would be OK with this if the author was saying something profound or interesting but its not - its just GCSE level drivel about animal rights and astrology and I am so baffled at how critically acclaimed this book is… what am i missing??
