Madi Taskett is on page 28 of 173 of Steering the Craft: Exercises and Discussions on Story Writing for the Lone Navigator or the Mutinous Crew
Book's been highly recommended – not sure what to make of it. I'm learning useful concepts which will change my writing for the better, but I also disagree with the author, sometimes quite often, sometimes vehemently.

Madi Taskett is on page 47 of 256 of Consider This: Moments in My Writing Life After Which Everything Was Different
Fuck, this book is good. Likely the best book I've ever read on writing craft. Each page teaches me something new, which is a feat bc I've written two books, and read over a dozen books on writing craft.

Madi Taskett is on page 100 of 504 of The Serpent and the Wings of Night (Crowns of Nyaxia, #1)
After two DNFs in a row, I'm happy to say this book is faring well! I care about the characters, the stakes are clear and high, and there's a ton of tension and unanswered questions. It's fun, and well written.

19 pages in and it's already transforming the way I edit. Would be surprised if I rate this less than 5 stars.

Is it too early to say this is my favorite book of all time?

(clutches the audiobook to my chest like it's a jewel)

I need a physical copy so I can highlight the myriad of passages that are so breathtaking they bring tears to my eyes.

Whereas my last read book on humor took 51 pages to get to anything useful, Lisa's book starts on page one- already learning the moment I open the book. A good sign!

The page I'm on now:
"Funny-Writing Tip #6: Proofread. Get your spelling, syntax, and grammar right." Really??? How is that FUNNY writing advice???

Madi Taskett is on page 25 of 320 of Save the Cat! Writes a Novel
I'm only 25 pages in, but I'll be surprised if this isn't a 5-star read. And to think, I put off reading this for years because I thought it would be a cheap remake of "Save the Cat". This book (so far) answers every nitpicky question I had that Save the Cat didn't answer.

I think I know why people hate Colleen Hoover so much. They're expecting to read Romance, not Horror. So far, 'It Ends with Us' is a horror novel, and a good one, too! Hoover builds up suspense well, has twists and turns, and really gets in the head of her characters. I feel like everything is happening to me, as I read the book.

Maybe Hoover's other books are worse? But right now, I don't understand the hate.

I've been spending hours on this book every day. Thought it would be a quick read but this is an IN DEPTH look at theme, with tons of questions that require real thought to figure out regarding my book. Really finding this book useful so far.

LOVING this so far. Had high expectations, but Good Work is exceeding them. It's like having a companion on my own journey, who knows exactly what I'm going through and who is a few years ahead, shining a light on the way through it. Feeling brave and hopeful and inspired.
