I'm starting to think this play was not for me. My aroace brain can't grasp why any of these characters are attracted to each other despite barely knowing each other or spending any time together. I also don't understand why we have villains when Shakespeare can't even bother to give them any semblance of motive. I guess being born out of wedlock really put a chip on Don John's shoulder. Dogberry is fun, though.

Beatrice is a girl's girl. Love her! I'm also becoming endeared to Benedick. Everyone else, though...kinda boring. Don't know if that's a hot take, but I'd much prefer if this play was just banter between Beatrice and Benedick.

Park has amazing taste in music: The Smiths, Joy Division, Echo & the Bunnymen. I officially love this book!

Damn... I knew it would happen as soon as he found that book, but still... Rest in Peace, Ian. I'll miss you. On a positive note, Christian is finally gone!

Definitely a "sins of the father" story. But what is this creature, and why does it require a blood sacrifice from specific families? And was the little girl from the beginning of the book one of the sacrifices?

This book is oddly funny so far. I think I might become a fan of the "Enemies to Lovers" trope before the end of this book.

Okay...LeGrand's backstory is super weird. Did this man escape from a cult or something? Glad we're finally getting to know this guy, though, seeing how he's main character coded.

Finally, a clarification: our actress with severe food allergies, Rebecca, is "toothpaste commercial." Yay!

Great book so far...but who is "toothpaste commercial?" Hopefully they're not too important to the story 🙃

⚠️Spoilers!⚠️

Now...why did we have a "liar revealed" scene only to automatically undo the emotional impact of the scene in the very next chapter? It makes Ravi look stupid and insensitive. Also, why would Pip not just be honest with Ravi? It's not like the killer would know she told him. Chapters 36 and 37 were pretty bad, honestly. Took me out of the book a bit.

The men in this book are all terrible! I hate them! Hopefully, either Phillip or Meredith is the murderer.

Poirot is really going to read through these peoples' letters and then say, "aha, now I know who is guilty"? Absolutely wild! My money is on either Meredith or Miss Williams. Meredith gives me incel/nice guy vibes, and Miss Williams could've easily killed Amyas simply because she despised him.

This book just made me mad. I can't believe they actually had the nerve to kill a dog in this book. I get that Barney's death is probably what's going to drive Pip to find Sal and Andie's killer. But I'm heartbroken. Also, how stupid of the killer to tell Pip they'll give her her dog back if she destroys evidence and then kill the dog anyway.

Lots of layered characters who are all highly suspicious. But I'm a bit concerned about the lack of physical clues and other real evidence. Poirot seems to be going solely off of witness testimonials and what I can only describe as profiling so far. Understandable seeing how the murder is technically a cold case (16 years old). Just hoping this strategy pays off better than it did in 4:50 from Paddington.
