More good prose about ecology (dead wood/cwd).

This book is going a bit of a different direction than where it started. Not unenjoyable but a bit disorienting.

Very good nature writing. I think I was expecting something else, but this is enjoyable.

Fun little chapter about moths.

That was a good chapter. I think it’s unfortunate how simplistic people view ecology and this chapter (with the writing about the buttercup and the pony corrals) was a beautiful exposition about how ecology truly operates.

Didn’t love the forgiveness chapter.

Very interesting to read about the development of cultivars for the high plains.

Looking forward to next chapter.
