starting to dislike this the more i read, partly because i find the author a bit insufferable or pretentious at times. he makes several superficial tangents to mention names of people who do little to serve the narrative (and while this is a commentary on the politics of science, i find many instances cumbersome) and he’s oddly fixated on his colleagues’ dating lives..? weird. thomas cech strikes a better balance
