First we don't all have 2 first names and the accent good grief. So far the setup of the actual story has been half the book. I know Patts can't write anything over 400 pages but we really needed the backstory on the opening case. Maybe they are doing it out of order but so far all the characters are terrible.

Here's the thing...
In these books the anthropologists call Native Americans 'indians' no absolutely zero professionals in that field would ever do that. Not to mention as per usual the women are written as helpless boy crazy teenagers. 🙄

So DFW is the 4th largest metropolitan area in the US. It isn't the country. There aren't deer running around. This is absolutely ridiculous. Also Dallas and Ft Worth are separate cities. The stereotype is absolutely ridiculous. As someone who has lived here my whole life... We aren't backwards rednecks.
