The family seems nice

All her suffering is Rochester’s fault and I’m irritated

I have very conflicting feelings about Mr. Rochester I was very annoyed with him most of the chapter tbh

I feel for shadrack :( the system for veterans dealing with mental health problems as a result of it makes me so angry

He is married ?????? I took a break but I never thought he would be married

Wow I literally cried for everyone in this last chapter I will think about this book for a while

The break up between Giovanni and David omg David is actually evil :( I really liked Hella’s monologue about the struggles of being a woman within the patriarchy when she said u are at the mercy of some strange man before ur urself wow

The impending doom I feel because of their relationship knowing how it ends is making me sick. David calling him baby, like wow he really needs to just accept himself. Giovanni is definitely a bit codependent towards him tho :( “ I must confess: I loved him. I don’t think that I will ever love anyone like that again.” IM SICK

I feel so badly for Sue like fuck David for tht :(

Before Jane’s issues with grace poole used to make me laugh because it was just her laugh she found creepy but now I think she is the one who bit Mason ??? I’m kind of confused with that part because all I know is it happened in her room also it’s clear Rochester wants Jane too

Well she is in love with him… I think she is only in love with him because this is the only man she has ever talked to. I don’t necessarily hate him or the idea of them but I don’t love the age gap. I will say my favorite line was “He made me love him without looking at me” like okay Jane the yearner

Mr. Rochester asking Jane if she thinks he is handsome and she straight up said no killed me. I’m getting a feeling they are gonna be together though and I’m not feeling that tbh.

Jane is so me coded. When miss temple left and she realized she had not had any independent thoughts for years, omg I was like that is literally me right now. Then when she spoke about how men would not survive in a life full of constrictions like woman my girl was spitting. Her constant desire for thrill in her life in order to feel happy she is me,I am her.

I didn’t realize I had such an attachment to Helen because why did literally cry at her death. I’m heartbroken Jane and Helen’s relationship really warmed my heart :(

My favorite page was when she started going off on Mrs. Reed like yes finally then to find out she sent Jane to a school for orphans but wanted to act sad when Jane told her how badly she treated her like girl whatever

Victor is so self centered and stupid like why didn’t he think it was a threat against Elizabeth… if he wanted to kill you he would have done it when you said no to making his companion… the father dying because of heartbreak this mf got basically everyone around him killed because he is ignorant towards the being HE MADE.

Well Clerval died, which I had a feeling was going to happen, since he referred to him in past tense. It’s victors fault so I can’t feel bad for him but I do feel bad for Clerval because I liked him.

I like updating my progress typically every 20+ pages but victor is such a bitch and I need to say that. I hate him with all of my heart. It’s fuck him fr wdym you’re not making the creature…. Then his stupid ass is gonna say “he wanted to pursue the murderer of his peace” WHICH IS HIMSELF???? ALL OF THIS IS HIS FAULT HE LACKS ACCOUNTABILITY AND JUST COMPLAINS I HATE HIM.

Victor is annoying me. He is just saying he is full of dread that he has to make another creature… I get it to an extent but like just make it so you don’t have to continue worrying.

Wow, the whole story of the monster was just wow. I felt for him so much, hearing how he learned and the feelings that came with it. Just beautiful, I literally felt everything for him as he told his side. I really didn’t want him to be the murder, but he was :( victor really did cause all of this. All he wants in life is to be accepted and loved, victor better make his companion. I could barely put the book down.

So their servant was executed for the murder of his brother… and here goes victor in the corner screaming about how it’s his fault 😭
I finally got to him talking to the creature,honestly I didn’t expect him to be able to talk that much. I feel bad for him like he was really abandoned and barely knew how to care for himself. Due to his appearance everyone is scared of him making it 10x harder for him :(

I don’t know if I can trust victor.. he didn’t even speak to the monster so to claim it is a demon, I don’t know. I knew before he said it that the monster could have possibly done killed his brother, but when he said it I was like well I don’t know now because why would the monster do that and it seemed like it ran away from him

So much happened his mother died and she basically wants victor and Elizabeth (adoptive sister?) to get married I get it’s a different time but… and these last few chapters is just background leading up to him making the monster and hating himself for going down that path I also don’t think I like the point he made about ignorance is better then knowledge just because he hated where it took him

So I finished the letters and I’m assuming the stranger who Robert saved was Dr. Frankenstein and that’s who is speaking in chapter one. It was just a backstory but um I fear he is gonna be weird about his adoptive sister like wdym u own her until she dies…..
