I don’t understand how this is classified as dystopian.

Just like the first book of the original trilogy, I’m having a hard/slow time getting into the first book of the tetralogy. Pushing through just fine though.

This is not a horror book. It’s a family drama/trauma dump. What a slog.

Well, I definitely haven’t read a fantasy (romantasy? I can’t tell yet.) book like this before. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing yet. The premise and setup are interesting. Very YA.

I keep complaining about this series. But… I like T. Kingfisher so much that I’m going to keep reading because I’m desperate for this book to redeem the series.
