this is sooooo engaging to me... sometimes when I listen to audiobooks my mind starts to wander but I'm hooked on every word so far.

Only a quarter of this audiobook left which is still over 8 hours...... I have been wanting to throw the towel in since 50% but everyone loves these books so much I feel like I have to see if it makes sense by the end. I'm so sick of hearing about Molly.

halfway through and the royal assassin is finally assassinating people instead of kind of wandering about and talking to various people lol

obviously I know now but I started this book fully assuming it was a lesbian romance based on the cover and was completely confused when it wasn't. very misleading cover lol. but cover aside a Cat Sebastian book has yet to disappoint me. they are cozy. ❤️

Him avoiding dating apps because they're dangerous and then accidentally getting mixed up with quite possibly the most dangerous woman he could ever get mixed up with is still making me giggle hours later.

well so far I am liking this a little better than I liked the acotar series? but also I feel like I'm also just kind of reading acotar again. miss maas has a formula and by god is she sticking to it

My friend recommended this to me but I'm having major deju vu from the fever dream that was Verity. I know a Gothic-style woman in the attic mystery is formulaic but man this is like almost play by play the same so far.

I'm in a bit of a book slump so I can't tell completely how much of it is nothing is really satisfying me or this book. I felt that way for most of the Tainted Cup too, despite it being so well-received. It's like a lot of cool concepts and cool characters but something about the writing/pacing is very boring to me :/

why did I never know that Lestat wanted to freak his own mother.... uhmm... 😬

if what I'm afraid is going to happen to one or both of two specific characters in this story does indeed happen I'm going to be sad...

okay I don't think I'm gonna finish this in a week before my library hold is over 😭 it's been a little bit slow but things just got REALLY interesting. this story is an unusual blend of genres. ugh. I might just have to go to barnes & noble to give myself more time lol

definitely liking this one better than I liked the Benedict book/#3 so far.

this is a very cold MC. very calculative and unemotional. which is sort of cool but also the lack of warmth makes it harder to care about him & what he's doing
