I will say the language in this book is really beautiful, so I feel forced to connect with the narrator despite my lack of a shared perspective. All of these narrators seem to despise themselves and other women especially, and right now it doesn't seem to be making any kind of point, it sounds like Taddeo feels that this is a version of saying what every woman is thinking, which I feel is not the case!

I think it’s my first time reading English translation from Japanese and I feel like maybe that translation has interfered with the prose a lot. The book so far feels so simple that it definitely has to be missing something compared to the original.

I am very very desperately not wanting this to be over-I have around 100 pages left and so now I’m pretty much mourning this book. Nathan Hill does an amazing job at creating a lifespan, lifeline, and overall encoding of the mind and body in his words. I never want his to be over :(
