debating on whether I should DNF the book

Tell me why the author talks about nicknames assigned by our MX families & how white feminists would be outraged by this behavior Let’s forget whites for a sec..any reasonable person w/ critical thinking skills can say that it’s not black and white. Lots of these nicknames pick on ppls insecurities & it can allow for the person to harbor shame bc of it. It is that deep

dense but super interesting the way hooks utilizes storytelling to implore *specifically* black people to increase their engagement w/ art. And to be more open minded about what it has to offer as well as how we depict and interact with art created *specifically* by black women, who are undervalued within this environment
