Stephani is on page 25 of 236 of On Liberty & Utilitarianism by Mill,John Stuart. [1993] Paperback
I've read parts of works by John Stewart mills before. Liberty is a particular favorite. As I continue to read it through now, it still resonates with how I see Liberty. He is relevant now, and always.

Stephani is reading Thich Nhat Hanh - Essential Writing (01) by Hanh, Thich Nhat - Ellsberg, Robert [Paperback (2001)]
I'm not religious but I think there are pleasant sayings or anecdotes about life in this book. Not sure if I'd recommend it, but it promotes optimism and that's probably helpful these days.

I think Castañeda has good instructions on the movements. It seems similar to tai chi or Qigong. I read an earlier book in this series and I think this is a good culmination of what the shaman Don Juan was cryptically training/teaching Castañeda.

I can see why this was recommended to me. I have noticed how myth shapes our present and continues to be part of our lives. Campbell's associations between modern life and myth are interesting, and compelling. Especially about American democracy, our founding fathers myth. on consciousness, accurate from my perspective, and it makes my reading of the other Campbell's my big toe, more technical, I'd say.

Stephani is 91% done with Madame Bovary
I feel like Madame Bovary has had an unfortunate life in womanhood of her time period. Flaubert's imagery, and descriptiveness of the characters paints a picture of female repression.

At first i thought it was contrite and too much of a victorian romantic novel. But I think there is reality in it. It's a beautiful story not only in the writing but also in the experience of the protagonist.

Stephani is on page 180 of 640 of The Golden Notebook
I like the stream of consciousness style of this book. I like how the story contemplates different aspects of this woman's life. Her intellectual, emotional, political, and social ideas and struggles. In some ways, I relate and in others I do not. In some instances, it is a reflection and in others it is a window of a different time.
