It's getting better? I think it might have been the author didn't know how to build up things (the world, the tension, the backstory etc) but is better once in motion.

It's not getting better

I really want to like this book based in the premise, but the pacing is off to me. Still reading to see what happens but it's not quite enjoyable. Hoping it gets better.

For a book about adults getting a bit frustrated how they all read like children.

I just don't know if I can make myself give this a fair shot right now. I loved book 1, but book 2 is the type of plot I'm generally meh about (and I can see it from the blurb -- the two romantic main characters are separated, the hero is framed and people are against them, and some type of superfluous extra love interest that gets rejected is added in... bleh). That being said, I want to know what happens.

Ugh. I love this author but so far I have found this book dreadfully boring. The romance/interaction isn't doing it for me, to the point I am considering DNFing it.

Ugh. I might have to DNF this. This doesn't feel like enemies to lovers. This feels like juvenile toxic people coupling. I get the sense, as I reevaluate the title, it probably won't get any better.

I missed this series, but I was having trouble reading it right now. Not that it was bad, but more the scenes with how families can fight, etc -- felt a little too real/dark/sad and I need something lighter for the end of 2020.

I'm at 15% and bored. But I see reviews like "I almost quit but glad I didn't!" so going to push through for a bit longer...

Guilty confession -- most of the way through this book and I actually really like it

These books are getting better and better.

The book is enjoyable, but I want to scream because I feel like I figured out what is going on way back in Chapter 2. (Granted, the last time that happened in a book I got to the point where I thought "NOW I WILL BE PROVED RIGHT!" annnnd I was totally wrong)

It's not bad but not great so far... Biggest problem with the book is it isn't Ready Player One

I might not finish this book. I checked it out because I think I got the author confused with someone else, and this book so far is just poorly written, and the characters don't act like real people. They aren't reacting the way a person actually would, but rather all their actions so far are just to do whatever moves the plot along. The book is short though and I hate loose threads so...

Giving this a 2nd attempt...

Started reading this book because I felt over due for some sci fi. This book is not scratching that itch, it breaks and mixes a lot of different genres, but I'm really liking it so far... Plus its set in the DC area!

Not sure enjoying it but its in Kindle format, vs. the other book I am reading now it 1000+ pages and hardcover.

I am restarting this book now that Arlington library has it for the Kindle and I don't have to lug the hardcover version around on the metro.

I've given up on reading this book for now. It's too damn long when you barely have time to do anything. It didn't seem bad though, I plan on coming back to it eventually.
