this book is Bad but I can’t stop reading bc what if the good part comes just after I give up?

There’s an awful mistake where the detective watches the suspect in his cell and explicitly says “I think he doesn’t remember what happened” and then no more than 5 pages later, the detective says “I’m beginning to think he doesn’t remember”.

Kind of a weird mistake in writing for a character that’s a savant with a “photographic recall”, no?

Don’t get me wrong I’m still gonna read it tho

I’m really struggling with myself on this one. The MC has Asperger’s, which the author can’t help but mention a symptom of at least twice a page. Refreshing for a detective to be not just neurodivergent-coded, but explicitly on the spectrum. But immediately all that goodwill was lost because the author can’t stop talking about it??
