One chapter in and I'm shocked, why the FUCK would you introduce the MMC in a scene where the FMC is genuinely afraid he will rape her?? That scene was horrible, who approved that??

Me, who usually doesn't get along with literary fiction, after reading and liking 2 (two) literary books in 6 (six) months: omg... am I... in my lit fic era...

I'm enjoying this, but the bullying plotline is a bit much. It feels juvenile, even in the very casual overall tone of the book

absolutely love the Devon reveal and chapter but also... what does it meeeaaaaan I remember it leading nowhere in book1, hopefully the sequels will clear things up

The whole "making up a ridiculous lie because getting flustered" and never clearing it up is SUCH a weird plot device to me like wtf???

really enjoying this, but progress somehow feels very slow

love the way the book sets up that the cadets are free with sex and is so open about it, but my god the way the male characters are described makes me cringe

ngl the hype around this scares me and made me not want to read it, but I DO love dragons, and the way a friend talked about it intrigued me, and I wanna talk to her about books, soo... at least it sounds like itll be fun?

ngl, not a fan of the romantic subplot. i hoped it wouldn't ever be spelled out but that hope was just destroyed RIP... maybe it leads nowhere

i have absolutely no recollection about this book, but unlike with Best Served Cold, zero memories of it are forthcoming as im reading... but im enjoying Bremer and Finri, even though theres no way its gonna end well

this used to be my fav series when i was a young teen, let's see if it still holds up

im not gonna pretend im not reading this because Murderbot is my #1, and so far i can definitely see traces of it in this book too, in the writing, humor, and some personality traits.

I love Lito so much, how he genuinely connects with everyone he meets, how he is tied to almost every other character in the book. He is so wonderful. Makes me hurt for what is to come even more

can only read this in short bursts because my god is it disgusting. also tbh i dont care super much about the boys

This series does NOT fuck around with managing to make ordinary, sinister things TERRIFYING in the most simplistic, understated way. I feel sick.

This is VERY hard to read in audio, ngl... I did consider DNFing two chapters in but it seems to be getting a little better now, really hope I can continue this. (also saw in other reviews that it seems just as confusing to read visually)

It is mind boggling to me that people would write an entire novel about aliens on earth and a diplomatic incident and then... Solely focus on humans. Like why?? If I wanted that I would read a normal contemporary mystery book, and wouldn't have to seek our the alien ones for it!

Have I reread this one already this year? Yes.
Am I gonna reread it a second time before the year ends? Also yes.
And do I have any regrets? NONE WHATSOEVER
