I wanted to read Tom Sawyer and huck Finn before I read James by p. Everett but Im reading the original/unabridged version I have to look up soooooo many words and historical contexts it’s taking me forevvveeerrrr I’ll never get to James before black history month is over 😩

Meh. It’s supposedly a queer retelling of Mulan so I was intrigued but it was mostly incredibly bleak and dense to get through. Not a bad book I’m just not in the right mindset to enjoy it!

DNF’d it. Too boring :(
