For a moment this read like the mature, serious version of Harry Potter I have always dreamed of!! Sadly, a third in to the book it reads more like a translation textbook, fast-forwarding from year to year with next to no dialoue 😭😭 I happen to enjoy the translation lectures, but it's like the dialoue and story that is supposed to happen inbetween have been edited out? Or maybe was never thought of?

I have been so excited for this sequel and it does not disappoint at all!! How fun to be reading something that just pulls you in straight away, and hopefully, finally a 5 star fantasy read 🤩🤩

I chose to ignore the one hint in the first book that a literal child and an immortal demon would have any sort of love story, because I just wanted to really enjoy a fantasy book for once. But it all seems to come back to bite me now, as the story seems to go there. Why?? She is 14!! Again and again described to both look and act like a child 😭😭😭 this should not be ok

Finally catching up on what was supposed to be winter reading 😅 ah well never the wrong season for a good book I guess 📖

Up to halfway I was really enjoying this book but lately the characters just act so stupid 😭😭 it’s driving me crazy and making the story hard to believe, as well as lowering the stakes a lot. If they can just walk around and talk about anything how are they not risking their mission and disguises! The last book had me at the edge of my seat but this is leaving me annoyed instead

Getting through this book too fast 😭😭 really good so far, once I accepted I definitely don’t understand everything 😅

The struggle is real trying to remeber all the different characters and plot lines from the previous books that I read a year ago 😅 going back to my own previous review apparently I did not understand much in bloodmarked either 🥲 Hopefully the plot will be as strong as in the previous book, and maybe even the confusing lore will become a little less confusing in this one

So excited for this!! Somehow I got my hands on the audiobook before the library even have the physical book in! 😍😍

Excited to take on this classic that I keep seeing mentioned but oh boy is the auidobook narrator a sleeping pill 😅 also so far witches seem to be kind of looked down on (not wizards ofc), plenty of time for women to appear and contradict this but my gut feeling tells me it won't happen... Happy to live in a more modern world with more gender equality in books and maybe especially fantasy.

Gah I was slightly disappointed in the murder mystery twist because I coincidentally just watched a TV-show with almost the exact same thing 😅😅 so not necessarily a bad plot, but the wow factor definitely goes away when it's the same thing twice in one week.
