at first I was like,, why did I love this so much as a kid?? why was it tied for my favorite alongside 11 birthdays???? but now I'm like ohhh ya I get it. no wonder I read this one almost as many times as book 1.

The changes from the audiobook/original British version usually make sense (though are often annoying), like "torch" to "flashlight" etc.. but why on earth would they change "book" to "pamphlet"? 😭 we have books in the united states ?????

could not sleep last night so I borrowed this audiobook (read by the author), and I already can't wait for this one to be one I return to. did I fall asleep immediately, insomnia and anxiety cured? no, but it provided for a moment of wonderment, which is worth a lot

going from sentences that make me laugh out loud to sentences I wish I could unread in rapid succession here

read this before bed if you want to drift off with all the wonders of existentialism cradling you to sleep (man I was Sad last night)

reading this because joe keery is going to be one of the main characters in the upcoming movie :) and the andy weir-isms are a plus, though I doubt this will reach the same amount of heart and scientific accuracy/enthusiasm. cheers to the scene that made me go "eww so this WILL be gross to watch in theaters" (lord willing I will anyway)
