random things I've been loving
- the fact that lucas's ability to make the basketball team has a backstory (as a Non Sports Person I didn't think about this before but now I'm like ohhh duh)
- lucas confiding in robin !!!! and thinking she'd fit right in to the party if she was a little younger :")
- steve seeing lucas's basketball and taking it outside despite being at work. this jock rlly said It's Free Real Estate

every day I wake up and I'm grateful for the amount of sass they injected into lockwood in the netflix show. that actor IS lockwood as far as I'm concerned. also losing my mind that the "you need a ladder" lines weren't in the book (but the scene they're from WAS) - I'm gonna go bonkers when I get to lucy and lockwood at the party

the first few chapters were super interesting; I think once she started discussing the North American bears the book lost its intrigue and perhaps its direction (and I was so excited to read abt black and brown bears!!)

joan and vanessa's conversation about God is putting so many things into words that I've never seen said like this before! but it's exactly it !!!!! so much like what lives in my heart/brain! this is WILD

the author just started a paragraph with "Bearing witness to..." with no commentary on the pun but I'm certain it was intentional. I love her already

Borrowed the audiobook so I could go faster and I STILL feel like my brain is trudging/stumbling through the writing. there's no emotion in the audio dialogue... also Nhika is making so many assumtions that I feel like I must've skipped a chapter or something. But no. She's "never been so sure of something in her life" and it's that a guy she barely knows killed another guy she barely knows. With no evidence.
