It's kind of dragging for me, and I'm losing interest at 30-50%. If they had the $1.99 WhisperSync that they often have with the Kindle First books, I might try the audio to keep it going. But they don't, so I'm going to put this one down.

Fun and meta and not too over the top!

I started out liking it. And by this point I am hating it so much due to the absurdity and repetitiveness. Normally I would be abandoning, but I really want to get to the end to know what could possibly be worth all this.

Oh, if I had known that Bahni Turpin did the audio, I would have switched from Kindle much sooner. One of my favorites!

Pretty fun read, so far! Nice short chapters, interesting premise, amusing characters. And it's getting creepy.

I love Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books, but I did not like Carrie Soto when she was introduced in another book. I’m a third of the way through this book and I still don’t like her. And I don’t love sports books in general. I will abandon pretty soon if it doesn’t get more interesting.

WHY would I start a 1400 page book as I'm closing in on my 2024 reading goals?

This is so good, I don't want to put it down. How have I never heard of Mike Gayle before?

I'm ten minutes in, and I've already busted out laughing alone in my car three times... and it's an essay about guns and gun violence.

losing interest....

I'm about 60% done with the book, and about 60% interested in finishing it. I'm not bored, but it's kind of a chore to pick it up each time. Don't really care much about the characters.

Everybody in this book is annoying, especially the women. Bleh. I'm going to keep going for now, but leaning toward abandonment.

So many great quotes and references. But a reference to the poet Ruth Zardo put a big smile on my face.

I am loving this book. And it's a FREE (included) Audible listen.

When I started listening, I would have bet you $100 that the narrator is the inimitable Rachel Bloom. And I would have raised it to $150 after the singing bit. But I would have been wrong, and you would have been richer.

Even after I looked up Kristen Sieh, I'm still half convinced.

4% in, and I’m already considering abandonment. Not a fan of smug entitled people, and I don’t like to spend much time with them. I’ll give it a bit more to see if anything interesting happens.
