Ummm what is this backstory?

I have no idea where this book is going. I don't know which characters to care about in any way. I'm bored? I took a pause reading this to read the Wings that Bind and devoured that book in a way that made me realize reading this one feels a little painful.

I feel like I don't truly know enough about these characters to care about their path, their motivations, their decisions.

It's just kind of meh right now

It's not great. Took a break and read a whole other book in-between trying to finish this one.

The FMC comes across as naive and sometimes vapid, the MMC is way more obsessed with the idea of the FMC than who she actually is (he barely knows her).

Very instalove across this whole series which isn't really my thing

I only care about Saga and Hekla's chapters.
