Third time reading this in 6 years. A lot has changed for me personally since I first read The Fall in December 2021, I’m finding new insights in the text already.

I got 60pgs in on the Briggs translation and felt like something was missing from my reading experience, so I switched to a modern edition of the Maude translation and started the whole book over. I’m glad I made that decision; I’m enjoying this book much more than I was before.

The most violent book I've ever read. It's more sadistic and depraved than A Clockwork Orange, which is something I thought I'd never hear myself saying. I haven't felt this empty after finishing a book since I read Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground and/or Demons.
That being said, it's well written
