Hours flew by in seconds.

Going through so many emotional roller coasters.

Put on a random audio book to fill in time while working and it’s turning out not too bad. I don’t like the MMC but I do admire how he cares for his aunt

I’ve never had a book make me sob so much as this one did in the first 72 pages. The empathy I felt for Ove is beyond comprehension. A man that seems harsh and rude on the outside but lonely and grieving on the inside. It hurt to see him want to die after loosing his “destiny.” A man who did everything to stay up for his principles, a man deserving of great respect. I know the rest of my book will break me…

So sad to see their faith in God diminished in the harsh environment they were forced into. It’s understandable why they would question the mercy of the most high. However, they were not treated as humans but rather livestock so it was ironic Blockalteste told the Jews, “Let them know that here lived men and not pigs” (84).

It’s pretty good so far. Shows the harsh realities behind the concentration camps during WWII, but also an idea of what the Jews thought during this process. It’s sad to see how the relationship between the Jews and God perished as the Jews’ delusion was replaced with helplessness. I wonder what else is in stored.
