A really beautiful book so far. Depressing by a thousand small cuts.

God, this book is so perfectly paced. So much happens while still weaving so much history and care into the characters.

It’s so tough rereading this after 10 years and still waiting on Winds.

The amount of subtle empathy that some of these characters show is so good. Picking way more up on the reread than the first time.

Why read a new book when I can just restart my favorite series of all time?

Mr. Vutch is my guy. Best character in this book.

Decent so far, pretty run of the mill fantasy. Not a bad read, but don’t think this will stand out as a favorite/reread.

I'm reading this book so slow because it has these beautifully written lines that I keep having to reread out loud before moving on.

DNF, was an occasional toilet read but haven't been picking it up over the past month or two. I'll get back to this and make it a more intentional read.

I can't make myself have the discipline to read books about discipline. Maybe I'll have the discipline after getting the discipline to read a book about discipline?

DNF (for now), I promise I will return to you Ilium. But I'll probably finish up Hyperion as my next Dan Simmons. Stopped reading this one when it was too big of a book to pack on a trip and I never got the desire to pick it back up.

Loving this one, making me think a bit too much about life though …

Strong start. Reminiscent of the Giver, I'm very intrigued by the world and how it's being laid out slowly.

There’s no honor or glory in the way Vonnegut writes about war. It feels more honest that way.
