genuinely very drawn to this story, and ultimately becoming very drawn to memoirs as a whole.. very exciting to think of the on-deck books that are already stacking up :)

Favorite/most striking quote thus far:

i waste my time pursuing wisdom through reading books and underestimate the power in sitting on my knees in silence for 20 minutes asking the One who created me to speak to me. By the Grace of Jesus, I pray this Tozer & this book brings me closer to the heart of God. I don’t care if it makes me smarter, I want it to reveal the goodness and the power of who God is, and I want to weep over Jesus again and again.

I’m hooked!! It’s made me teary eyed twice, pushed me to pray, and just seek the Lord as faithfully as Lauren did all through her childhood. There is a sense of innocence and purity that is truly life-giving. I sat and read 170 pages straight without pause.

I feel like this is going to bring ~judgment~ lol but i love Thomas Rhett & I’m intrigued by this personal memoir of his wife Lauren & learning how faith has played a role throughout their marriage and life together 🤟🏽Also, it’s friday night and I got no plans- it was either this or C.S. Lewis & I’m saving that for a morning 😋

Blessed by the ministry of Salt & Global missions that desire to equip their laborers with resources like this.

Necessary for the next generation to see that we’re being held back from a flourishing life with Jesus because of this drug. YES.

Today I learned:

1. the significance of Jacob stopping by Beersheba on his way to Joseph in Egypt,

2. honed in on the Promises of God to Jacob (& faithfulness to Jospeh)

3. Saw Jacob’s transition from a very anxious, selfish sinner, to a humble man that worshipped & trusted the Lord.

I couldn’t recommend a Bible commentary resource more than this one- I truly wake up excited to read the Bible and allow God to reveal His character through His word! I only have one more day of Genesis and I’m truly sad about it.
