Highest point on a hill or mountains there will be surveyors’ trig point - trigonomerical station, in good visibility you should be able to spot at least 2 others on high points in the distance.

smelling smoke on a cold morning - temperature inversion - creates a sandwich effect warm air trapping cold air below - sound,light,radio waves bounce the top of the cold layer and the ground. Things in the distance look like they are floating, - optical illusion - Fata morgana, possible to pick up radio waves 100’s of miles away, flash of green at moment of sunset.

Found the home that the mini home was modeled after, a museum director had the info of the blind girl who once resided there during the war

Warner finds Marie-Laure, kills the German in her house. Marie- Laure sets the gem free enclosed in the miniature house her father built. Warner walks Marie-Laure to safety where she is reunited with her uncle.
Warner goes and retrieves the gem from the ocean, he is then picked up and sent to an infermary, unable to eat and sick he stumbles into a field where he dies from a land mine set out by his own army.
