Why are books so expensive nowdays :,(

I feel so bad for Hana, she's so young & to not have her mom around constantly clearly effects her. Her cheeks growing hot while talking to Kimiko about her mother, is sadly relatable :((

I've read two of Mieko's work by now. I've been WAITING for "Sisters in Yellow" to come out & I'm loving it so much. She always pulls me right into the story in a way that no other author does. Cant wait to see where this book goes!!

I think the reason why Vanessa irritated me was because I too once believed that a man who loved me couldn't have done what he did. Its hard to accept that you were groomed, lied to, manipulated and used. Harder in this case because vanessa was only 14 when it started, and until the very end when Strane died he tortured her till the very end. She is a victim. This novel was thought provoking, and emotional above all.

As I get closer and closer to the end, I cant help but feel sorry for vanessa and almost annoyed? She admits in her own mind and even in instances when alone with Strane that he did abuse her, & what she went through as a child was traumatic. She knows this and acknowledges it throughout her adolescence- even in her late adulthood. Her refusal to fully accept this is a direct & deeply rooted result of what happened.

My God. Poor Vanessa, all that she’s been through at this point and she’s only 15? Everything that he’s doing, manipulating, confusing her, and using her naivety as a tool to get deeper into his fantasy of “ruining her”. Fuck him.

Yk when they say never judge a book by its cover? I refuse to listen to that bc I’ve been wanting this book forever, and now that I’m actually reading it I… I don’t really like it😭. So far at least, the writing feels so lazy and immature ? Aida says “fucking” wayyy too much it feels so typical bad girl. lol

Graphic at times but so far a great read, Frank is so creepy and so is the protagonist on a certain level since he’s dating a high school girl.
