The People seem so great, they're just people and kind to each other. I like how the white Australians are called Happy Folk, its kinda funny. I know nothing about aborigine culture, for me I think this as folklore coming alive. Honestly this setting is really amazing, I'm having a good time

ULARRAS NOT A GIRL?? it took me this long 💀

I found this in the bookstore in Airlie Beach, I was just visiting and didnt intend on buying a book but this one stood out to me. I had no clue it was from the 80s it that it was the 2nd in a series.

So far its pretty good, I like the perspective its told in, it give it a prose feel like beowolf or the odyessy or something. Its a book about a journey and I like that.

Something completely unique and I like it a lot

This chapter was so dramatic and ominous that this ending line feels like a threat. I love it.

With stories of rape or abuse here I like the revenge narrative, I just hate it with Lucy because she is not a survivor, its fake. But this part, its just getting good. I like.

Finally its getting kind of good. It took too long to get here but now that things are happening I might be able to forgive it.

3 perspectives make the pace a crawl. Why are sirens a mystery if the book is called The Sirens? Why must we watch these boring gals learn the most basic info 3 times over?

Lucy has this longgg monologue how she hates her boyfriend, how her friend didnt care about her, how to world hates her but no?? Doing nothing in that first situation was literally the worst thing she could've done.

I know theyre setting up the 'female rage' and wanting revenge but its just not that. All I see is a girl who got screwed over and humiliated, but still has her boyfriend

Also the poor boyfriend Ben. It was all solved her accidently leaked nudes, he genuinely apologized, they were back together, everything is good. Then suddenly shes strangling you one morning and runs away? No apology text, nothing right then no brief "sorry" before scampering off? THATS SO SUSPICIOUS. poor dude like youre just having ur gf over and shes tryna choke u out. Then she runs away 12hrs with no text?So sad

Its not good literally nothing has happened. This girl feels like such an author insert; shaved head, true crime loving wannabe journalist? Its so disconcerting and her monologue is so immature and unbearable.

The sister is on another level of this authors insert: cool person and the fact that the "modern" day for this book is 7 years ago is so bizarre.

Boring

FINALLY all of the backstory just now caught up with the story and theres going to be some sort of resolution.

This is way way too freaking late in the game tho dawg LITERALLY 500/535 pages are filler this is the stupidest shit ive ever read.

I've never read a book like this before, make it 300 pages and call it a day my guy this is too much

Summarize this stuff in like 100 pages, and let 200 pages be the rest.
