OH MY GOD!! People say this is the worst book in the series…. If that's the case this will be a holy grail set of books for me because I LOVED this book. I loved the representation and the very real depth both MCs had. This was perfection. Debated giving it 4.75 but that would be me being picky for no reason. This is a 5☆ read for sure!!

DNF at 93% 😭 I can't do it anymore. The premise was such a good idea. This could have been a beautiful book. But it was TERRIBLE!! And when they revealed the “secret plot twist” I actually yelled “WTF!!!” The ick that I had became full disgust. Yeah no. I can't do it. I simply don't care about the last 7% at this point

4☆ I LOVED THIS BOOK! It was almost a 5 but from 50%-80% they kinda lost me ngl 😬 Anywayyyy, this is prime late 90s early 00s rom-com core. I imagined the FMC as 1995 Sandra Bullock if that tells you anything. It felt like the song Linger by the Cranberries. Highly recommended!

3.25☆ such a good and cute book. Ashley does no wrong. However, I went into it with a lot of expectations and compared to her other books it fell short. It was good nonetheless. And this is more of an “It's me not you” kind of rating.

2☆ did it have good parts? Yes. Absolutely. Was it a good book. Not really. It was just…. Ok 🤷🏼‍♀️ Every time he made a really good point that made me stop and think he would say some stupid shit that only a white man would write in a book.

I don’t think reading two books with the same premise back to back was a good idea. (music) So far, I’m indifferent to this one. Usually, Ashley has me hooked by now so im a bit shocked

2.75☆ listen to audiobook randomly because it caught my eye while scrolling through Libby. Only 2 hours long. Book itself gave me anxiety. But the one-liners? EPIC!!!! I had so many quotes that I had to post on my Instagram story because of how badly I wanted to share.

3.75☆ This is a “coming of age” of sorts with a subplot of romance. The real protagonist is music, at times competing with the real characters. I truly could not predict where we were going. Friendship, toxicity, yearning, and stubbornness. It felt strangely human, authentic. More autobiographical than fiction. The end? Imperfectly perfect.

You can’t convince me this book wasn’t 4000 pages long. The end was incredible. The beginning was good. The middle? Who let the rough draft be printed? Cut all that shit out. Without all that middle it would be a 5☆. But because they wasted my time with useless information that we never referenced again 2.5☆

Have you ever had a conversation with someone who’s a “subject matter expert” and they sound very pretentious, because nothing is ever “good enough”? That’s how the 2 protagonists in this book are. They criticize and rip everything apart. Including each other. Not in a cute bantery way, but actual hurtful comments. I feel no chemistry only an undertone of passive aggression.

Did it take me 3 months to finish? Yes. Was it worth it? No. Not really. I think this is the book that I like the least in the series. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Maybe the issue is me. I think I just wasn't emotionally invested.

Had to read it for work. It was OK. Too idealistic. I think corporate America doesn’t have time to implement this. And if it did, it’s very difficult to get adults to collaborate in the dream like way this book expects. However, it was very easy to comprehend.

soft DNF. I have devoted waaaaayyy too much time forceing myself to enjoy this. I’m gonna move onto another book and we will try again with this one once I finish the other

3.5☆ The first 15% was extremely rough, but the rest of it was SOO good. Everyone kept saying “it’s really sad” I don’t think it is. I think it’s realistic to how hard real life is and that’s not something that is portrayed in contemporary romances. It shows the importance of a support system. Me and this book were a enemies to lovers trope. I hated it and I came out loving it.

Right book, wrong time. I soft DNFed it at the beginning of this month because I actually hated it. I’m talking visually cringed multiple times, throw it across the room, wanted to demand a refund type heat. Picked it back up today and well… I still hate the immediate love at first sight, at the beginning but I love the progression of the plot and the connection

I’m in a slump right now, so this took me a month to finish. 4☆ The writing is one of the best I think I’ve ever read. Poetic, descriptive, no notes. The plot… What the fuck. The plot TWIST… shut the fuck up. It was good but I just found myself uninterested at times.

Soft DNF put this down for now and started reading martyr. Probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.This book is terrible and that book is magnificent

Might be too soon to make this statement, but I think this might be a 5☆ Plot wise, i’m not too sure what’s going on or where we are going with this, but the writing… The writing in this book!! I- I could host a TED talk. I could get some of these lines tattooed ON MY BODY. The writing is not only beautiful, but ridiculously thought-provoking.

Say this is a prank right now 🫵🏼 ain’t no way Abby wrote this. This is so bad. So so bad. Please God it has to get better because it actually can’t get worse.
