There’s a dark, mysterious, gloom to the story so far

Adam has made it to the antimemetic’s site where he finds his wife’s body. He also finds the room where all of their secrets are kept and the recordings. He leaves the safe area and the monster is out there, but he can’t see/sense Adam.

So, I’m confused. The MC, the one that practically ran the antimemetic organization, is dead. Previously to that she had her memories of her husband taken from her from an alien monster and she told her unit to erase his memories of her to protect him. Now the POV is her husband and everyone around him has “turned” and they’re hunting him :/

The group is investigating a missing person. Cece, a girl that Michael grew up with. We’re unsure if this case is related to the
Fibonacci cases, but the FBI are involved bcs it could be. Michael mentioned that his father’s face shows ‘hunger’ when CeCe is mentioned.

There is a powerful entity that hates humanity and whose goal it is, I believe, to wipe out all humans. The main character watched someone who worked at her organization die from it and now seems to be a target herself. She has had her memories stolen and can’t remember her husband.

An interesting turn in events. The serial killer may have been killing since 1950 and have over 100 kills!

Sloane is the illegitimate daughter of a wealthy man that owns a casino.
Cassie’s mother’s bones were found in a casket and seemed to be handled with care.
Michael went home and came back littered with bruises and has already snapped at a man mishandling his son.
Lia either killed someone at the age of 9 or grew up in a cult.
Dean seems to be the most stable one for a change

Interesting so far, but though with this being an audiobook I think I’m a little slow to understand. There is a secret organization tasked with understanding entities/aliens that have abilities. One of the most dangerous abilities is the ability to eat or steal memories. So dangerous that the people in this organization take medications periodically to stop them from forgetting.

I’m looking forward to learning more about Solane and her family. Also Cassie gets an update on her mother’s death. I am curious if the body that was found was actually her mother or not.

I’m enjoying the pacing, the character development, and the plot very much.
