So this is a VERY Epstein and P Duffy based plot line but with the added twists of if Epstein had three daughters he allowed to be victimized and they go on a rampage for vengeance against all the dirty scumbags over a decade later after their father died in prison BUT also with a mafia/double agent mafia/FBI alliance and love interest twist. I doubted but I’m actually enjoying it.

Devastation! Did not expect this! I love L and D but I feel a little guilty bc Cas is the tormented soul forced to wander alone 400 years without love and watch humanity destroy itself. He’s not good and turned on humanity in disgust but in L he found a small spark of hope for humanity and she found empathy in him.. kinda shipping them now but D just obliterated all expectations I had for where this book was going.

We are about to get to a huge arc in the book but from 30-50% it has been dragging! Too many POVs and no real action. Just lots of hints of secrets that have yet to be revealed. No spice, no action, and lots of sadness. But… I do LOVE these characters so much. I know more heartbreak is to come and I NEED a HEA!

The letters between Lyra and Draven gutted me! I love the emotional depth. This book also has such a philosophical connotation to it. It is about all the multifaceted layers to humanity. what makes someone inherently good horrible inhumane things. If you had the power to decide if humanity, those who have turned to greed, tyranny, and murder, should be saved or destroyed for a chance to start over, what would you do?

Finally get to the spice but it feels so forced and is not a natural progression. Totally wrong time and reason. We might die so let’s shag (yes I’ve taken on British terminology thanks to reading it for hundreds of pages). This is in total contrast to the pace and slow building of emotional depth between them. Very inorganic. Ugh! It would have been better to wait or not do it at all.

This is an interesting plot concept with lots of subplots. Think soccer/capture the flag on flying animals, Nancy drew and the hardy boys, and magical beings divided between seller and unseelie. It reads as more YA but cute with the rivals and fake dating tropes. The banter is hilarious and the side characters too. I like the slow development of the relationship and emotional depth the pacing provides. No spice yet.

Checking out what all the hype is about and despite my skepticism, it’s actually pretty good. The banter and hateful glares and dogs are carrying this cheese plot so far. Still trying to get used to the British/ Scottish accents and terminology.

So freaking gutted right now! Nooooo!!!!

This book should be titled Dive Deep, this scene right here and those lyrics… my heart is clutched and I’m begging her to give in. This man! Hands down has my heart. Also, I mean the plot premise is all about diving deep… into the past… into themselves. It fits better. Plot premise is juvenile and dumb but the evolution of these two together is clutch.

Omg! I’m like emotionally damaged right now! WTH! I need a moment to process this dark plot twist. Noooo! And right when our love story was reaching the peak?! I don’t like it at all. Y’all… lessons I’ve learned through several fantasy reads… you ever discover your fated mate… you better damn seal that bond immediately!

Ugh! I hate books where all the main and supporting characters are split up (three separate places here) and then you get way too many POVs. This is where it seems like a lot is going on but really nothing literally happens. Chaos with no answers. The villains winning but we have no idea what is happening.

Ugh this is hard for me. I feel like the banter and relationships are all fairytale cheesy in this book even though they are on the brink of war. It is so superficial and lacks real depth. I’m going to need a break from this one.

Finally we get a reunion and emotions depth with our characters.

Omg! That moment when our MMC went to rescue her and made a new pledge to the dragons… swoon 😍🥰

This so far it is like we hit pause on book 1 and moved on to a plot of odessa’s self discovery with blasts from the past mixed in to finally give us some answers to our FMC’s background based on what seems like her mother’s history and family. So far, I’m a little bored and am ready to nix the creepy priests. The mom chapters annoy me by breaking up Odessa’s story. I want Ransom back with her!

So far I’m loving this wool! Unique witchy tale full of slow burn snarky banter and forbidden yearning with plenty of plot intrigue!

six ⭐️ read and I have so more to go! The plot is so relatable to today’s political climate and filled with action and the emotional depth and development of the characters is superb. Like, I know this is going to end lin a Greek tragedy , but it is still so devastatingly beautiful in a soul shattering way. “I will stay Sophia. Until I die.” It is not a fairytale romance but a tragic love story.

All the things I loved about this series are being stripped from this book. The devotion between the FMC and MMC is slowly deteriorating. The power imbalance between them is causing a divide. The whole fae vs humans dynamic is secondary to inner kingdom division for the throne. Then all of a sudden the antagonist wants to be friends, help, and gives up his claim to the throne???

I’m really struggling to not DNF this book. The first three were sooo good but this one is dragging and we have lost all the emotional depth and development between our main characters. It’s all about him trying to stop her from losing her humanity and killing everyone while also being her personal blood and body slave. Ugh, turning it into a chore and duty rather than love and genuine connection. Gross!

Omg!!! The heat, fire, and spice without actually doing anything super physical has me melting! This man is EVERYTHING! His words, acts of care, devotion, patience, and sultry flirtations and acts of desire while going at her pace with respect is soooo damn hot! I need an orange everyday y’all!

She became his obsession! 🤩

WTF! 1200+ pages for the last 10% of the book being the only thing worth reading!

Still dragging but then WTH! I really thought we would get more interaction with the characters from both series coming together. Also, we need Kieran love 💕 😘

finally the gods start showing up but seriously this should have happened way earlier! Also, Reaver walking in on them had me dying with laughter!

This book is draaaaging! All talk, no action. How many times do we have to hear the same concerns! Also, I need a poppy and Kieran moment! CAs is too obsessed and annoying!
