One of the most beautiful books I've ever read. I don't wanna continue to not read it through.
It's so much how I experience the world.
So much how queer love felt to me- it was never about the physicality but the desire to spend every godamn minute with that other person. To get to know her forever from the inside out. Also such a beautiful book about friendshiplove being similar & not the same

David Brooks paints a beautiful picture with depth, analyzing through personal experiences and through literature. I would have wished for the sources to be quoted on the pages throughout the book as well. But I understand that that is a fairly new style and considered difficult to read often.
I think he builds his perspective on the assumption that people wanna be seen. In my experience that is not always the case

Rereading- it will be so interesting to reflect on when I read it back than vs. now 5 years later

Es ist traurig, dass die angesprochenen Themen des 2019 veröffentlichten Buches kein einziges bisschen verbessert wurden in den letzten 5 Jahren & nur "schlimmer" geworden sind.
Ich störe mich immens daran, dass der Autor keine Quellenangaben benutzt & empfinde das bei einem Journalisten als schlechte Arbeit.
Teilweise kann ich nicht ganz folgen, was der Autor eigentlich will, bei dem Geschimpfe in alle Richtungen
