Good advice on learning to pray. So far I want to remember to:
1) set aside a time and a place to be alone with God,
2) to ask for gifts from a place of abiding with God not just need, then seek the Giver and knock on God's door to dwell with Him,
3) to seek the Spirit as the one God uses to teach us to pray.

Chapter 11 on the oneness of love points out that many Christian's separate from or reject anyone with whom they don't agree. In the past, Christian's have been imprisoned, burned at the stake and tortured because of differing beliefs. But the scriptures don't give us license to divorce someone because of differences. 2 John 10:7 says to only refuse someone who preaches a gospel other than Christ crucified.

Great book on the need to allow the Holy Spirit to love through us, to control our thoughts and feelings. I was touched by chapter 3 on finding life by not breaking the law of love. And how the power of Christ increases in us as our self-love decreases (pg 35), and by bearing our cross instead of being selfish, will allow us to love others.

I've read chapters 1-12. So far it's a cute imitation of a dog's perspective on being outlawed in Denver, CO, escaping animal control and starting the long trek home.

Good dialogue, interesting characters. Some very strong ladies! I like it.
