This author is a scholar and reformed Catholic. His analysis of the Gospel of John is very detailed and thought through. His conclusions on the authorship seem sound, though I know people that use the same scriptures to disagree.
Yet I'm surprised that he says the clearance of the temple is the second sign of His authority and identity. John 4:54 says the healing of the gentile centurion's son is the second sign.

This chapter is about the invalid healed after 38 years of illness. I agree with the author that the leaders sought to kill Yeshua because He claimed equality with God. However, I don't agree that the healed man blamed Yeshua when questioned. That's the author's bias. All the man did was explain.

I agree with the author on the festivals. However, 6:4 was added by Eusebius and a year may not have passed since the unknown festival.
