So i did not realize that a majority of this book is based is France. St. Malo is one of the most beautiful places on earth and i have been to so many of the places they are mentioning so it’s making it more fun :)

This book is so incredible. It touches on the balance between love and feminism. The struggles women have in a male dominated field.

I love the mix of research and scientific lingo to help propel the story.

Have now watched POTO - so i understand the references A LOT more. I also very much loved it????

I’m also on a musical kick? I watched West Side Story (a comfort) and Les Miserables today (s/o to my French teacher). I have never seen Phantom of the Opera SO here we are.

My reading journal is also so out of whack and that makes me so sad :( i cannot track my progress anymore this year but ill do my little quite pages and stuff.

Started this on the beach and then jumped from 7-44 in the audio book as a drove home. Very YA book and if i was 13/14 i would have ATE it up. Now? No spice

Picking this back up - attempted to co read with Iron Gold and while moving (didn’t go well). I was enjoying it :)

I’m speechless. My notes on this one are so little compared to Iron Gold and Dark Age. I will say, at this point, much love for the Raa and the Rim Dominion

Lysander: kinda also a cry baby but digging this outsider perspective of Cassian being a father figure. Very sad that that he has all this trauma/alcoholic undertones

Girrrllllllllllll

I started this as a quick read on my drive home and I’m hooked. It took me a second to understand and get into it, but wow. The writing and the back and forth of the story is incredible. I ran out of listening hours until next month and I’m distraught.

Put this on the back burner (oops) the first few pages are good but I’m struggling with the Disney aspects and all the fairytale cringe but i know it gets better

Another work read! Making my staff read along and we are discussing in April in a meeting! Very influential and all of the stories Miller ropes in as part of his real life experiences to help the reader relate is awesome!!!

A lot of my friends DNFed it bc they didn’t like the cringe dialog and parts of it ARE but i do kinda enjoy that balance. I also work in a semi traumatic field and when Ally started to share those portions of not wanting to take off and wanting a partner to care for her in the way Josh does… damn that HIT
