World building is interesting and good so far. Descriptions of places is very vivid and I like the consistency of character actions and dialogue. Kate is a good mix of impulsive yet levelheaded

Good worldbuilding so far

I can see what the author wanted to do with this series but didn’t get to accomplish. The couple fell for each other too quickly. The climax was lackluster and didn’t make sense considering it’s a highly secured mercenary base with cameras, guards, etc. The ghost aspect was something I wanted to see more of and it was a bit wasted. The character dialogue holding the book together.

The characters were well developed with their own quirks and personality. You could easily understand their reasoning behind their actions. However, the plot was a bit lackluster with not the best execution. The premise was interesting and the dynamic b/w the MCs was also good. The idea of the book was good but the execution of it was so so.

Love the chemistry but I do think some of the plot is a bit off. Like the fact the dad switches is a bit unrealistic or the fact that Kyren only ever tosses the ball to Goodie on the field. I only know 2 other names on football team. While Nyla k succeeds in making the couple realistic and their chemistry work so well, I think the plot gets a bit tangled or needs a bit more complexity

I hope there’s another book on Edin and hunter bc I think it would really help with the progression of their relationship. I do like slow burn, so I think having more development would be great.

I have a love-hate relationship with the characters at the moment. I don’t think the mc is in the wrong for not knowing everything about the ml who he just met two weeks ago. Kind of irritating that everyone’s making him feel guilty for that when I feel like you’re not gonna open up that quickly.

So far so good. The tension is good and pacing is interesting as well.

Smh this happens every time where I like a character in the first book and then they start to annoy me. I get it with the “I like everyone but u” trope. But like it’s so annoying when that ml is being aggressive and hostile to everyone else. I rather Wyn be indifferent if anything but he pissing me off with his constant nitpicking at hunter.

3/5 I think the concept is good but it didn’t have the tension or action I thought it was gonna happen. But I’m gonna read the second book cuz I think it’ll improve with the world building

It’s kinda getting a bit slow. I think it’s an interesting concept but some of the world building isn’t fully addressed. Like why do they have running water at every place they stop?

Audiobook go crazy. Narrator deserves an Oscar 😛
