melika finish one book challenge (I won’t)

I hate this book. I hate this author. I have hate read the average American male and the average American marriage. But I love his work. I love feeling as if I’m in on some secret, that I’m getting ahead by getting into the psyche of a horrific, depraved male mind. I am horrified at the prospect that it’s not a depraved mind, but a rather average one. But at least I am aware of how they think.

I’m about halfway through listening through the audiobook version of this and I don’t think I like it.

Jeanette’s writing style works really well for her first book where she’s describing her own life, but the same style is used for this book in a way I found kind of grating. The book is inspired clearly by own life judging from the way the main character and mother are described.

happy to report that I haven’t actually read a single page of this book for about a month but it has come with me in my purse everywhere I go in a sort of aspirational way

genuinely enjoying this one so far

this book feels like a very soothing conversation with your bizarre eccentric superstitious grandma who has mysteriously predicted every single major event in your life and knows exactly what piece of esoteric wisdom to give you for the moment

this story sucks

All reading does is remind me that I probably have untreated adhd

i hate reading stupid books

the part where the lawyer drugs and assaults the underage girl 😐😐😐😐😐 I cannot understand why people idolize this book
