I’m about halfway through listening through the audiobook version of this and I don’t think I like it.
Jeanette’s writing style works really well for her first book where she’s describing her own life, but the same style is used for this book in a way I found kind of grating. The book is inspired clearly by own life judging from the way the main character and mother are described.

It really reads like bad porn. We’re all supposed to collectively understand that a girl having a sexual relationship with her teacher is obviously wrong, but the graphic sex descriptions read like erotica and just kind of make you feel really uncomfortable when you remember who’s involved. There’s a lot of dark and humorous description of sex scene and others just disturbing. Like when she describes wanting to lick his stomach hairs straight. I had to pause so many times cuz I just couldn’t take it anymore 😭
